Good Day!
One of our Super grads turned me on to the Affirmation for Freedom in Scientific Healing Affirmations. I am choosing to say I believe rescuing ourselves from the clutches of age-old bad habits is extremely important. That's the gist of that affirmation and believe me, I am now reciting it every day!
I continue to be amazed at the strength that less than Highest Choice habits continue to wield in my daily life. No matter how many times I discover the JOY in attending weekday Temple offerings, I still seem to have to psyche myself up to get my buns down there!
Last night we had a new kirtan leader that was phenomenal. Just amazing. I was sure happy to be sitting in that Temple seat, I'm telling you! Yet, it really could have fell either way. If Den had gotten home a tad later, or we had been held up at the Knee-brace shop, we may have missed it. Geez....
So, all I can say is, we must keep fighting the good fight. "O ye brave good soldier habits, Drive away the dark, dark habits; Drive away the dark, dark habits!" (That's just a snippet...get yourself into the Whole affirmation!)
To be truthful, I imagine we have been playing things the worldly way for EONS and we are switching to the Spiritual Way much more recently. Those habit grooves are seriously in there...we must take a jack-hammer-like will to them if we are going to cut the grooves that will lead us to FREEDOM.
I believe making a daily list assists...or a weekly checklist may be your best bet. If you write it down, you have a much better chance of completing it. I think it's the left-brain thing...that sucker just loves to check off stuff!
Our recent Super grads are completing things like crazy as they have composed massive Completion renderings. Yes! We can overcome our old stuff just by out-organizing the robotic behaviors!
I happened to read something of Master's last night. It was an outline, a plan, for the Self-Realizationist written a long time ago. He mentioned fasting one day each week. Since I had done a whole week of fasting at Super, my ego was dancing around that one. Just reading it was enough. I am fasting today.
We must do the necessary, one day at a time, to outwit those erroneous grooves. Sometimes just getting some alternate encouragement, like last night's uplifting reading, will do the trick. Writing a list this AM also has been an assist.
One last piece...follow your intuitive hunches! I was out the door to the dentist just now and something told me to make a confirmation call. I struggled a minute...concerned about losing the time to do so. I went back in to make the call and sure enough...it was the wrong day!
Yesterday I had the hunch to contact the screen guy right then to repair a screen we had brought down from Inshallah. We scheduled for today. Today the guy told me: "You were really lucky. I get 30 calls a day and you just happened to call when I answered the phone. You became one of the 6 I take daily AND...you should have had to wait an extra week too."
I told him I thought God had done that for me. I said I meditated and things like that happened a lot. He didn't miss a beat...he just said, "That's good!" Haha.
Habits we go...go...go! I think I'll just repeat my Affirmation for Freedom now too!
Loving you always, k
