Good Morning!
Having just read the fabulous check-ins from our last SuperAdvanced group, and then an email update from a beloved grad, I am inspired to re-iterate the import of making GOD FIRST!
As beloved Sri Yukteswar says, "Everything in future will improve, if you are making a spiritual effort now!"
Last night Den and I were discussing a grad of whom we are particularly fond. He is struggling in relationship matters. The girl who has captured his heart is not supportive of his meditation practice, specifically dedicating much consistent TIME to it. She is also still enticed by drinking, and other various "fun" aspects of the Fraud World. I was shaking my head, not comprehending how someone could take the risk of having someone in their most intimate, daily environment whose interests and focus were not supportive of the MOST IMPORTANT goal any of us could have.
Den patiently explained that I was totally dedicated to finding God this lifetime and others often do not share this one-pointed attitude. Their spiritual lives are an adjunct...a part of, yet not the pinnacle, of their orientation.
I responded by stating this particular individual has been growing steadily in the LIGHT. More and more of his time and energy are devoted to the Spiritual aspect. Yet, it's true, as Yogananda says, ENVIRONMENT IS STRONGER THAN WILL POWER!
When Dennis doesn't feel like jumping into EE's or med, I am there to urge him on. When I am absorbed in a computer task, and lagging, he gets me out of my chair to do my EE's. We really assist one another to keep on keeping on!
Yesterday, Sundari's dad came over. We are working on a little Kirtan group for Core IV. He arrived and said, "Well, aren't we having a kirtan?"
"Yes," I replied. "And aren't we going to meditate together afterward?" "Yes" I stated again.
"Well, let's go get set up then!"
His prodding got the whole thing going and each of we three had a great meditation. So much so, we re-appointed to do it all again on Tuesday eve.
THIS is precisely the advantage of associating with others who share your spiritual pursuits! This same dear friend had not really considered attending India Night on Saturday until we suggested it. Yet, we each were incredibly benefited by being on the sacred ashram grounds, treated to one spiritual activity after another, for four hours on Saturday. What better way to spend one's time?
You see it's a circle. We each remind one another of our most important engagement; our engagement with G-O-D!!
You can run here and there for fulfillment...seeking under every Fraud World rock for what you are looking for...TRUE LASTING HAPPINESS! I can tell you true, you will NOT find CONSISTENT joy anywhere else except inside your own SELF!
WAKE UP!
A darling grad just emailed me today. She is considering moving back home to be nearer to family. I pointed out that they, almost ALL Source grads, seemed to be having difficulty maintaining their spiritual focus. I had experienced their Spiritual Light in the training. Beautiful, encompassing, strong. Yet when back in the Fraud World it was slipping away.
Is it time to review the Four Questions that Guide us to making Highest Choice decisions? When contemplating anything: relationship, move, career, activity, ASK
1. Will this increase my Frequency or lower it?
2. Will this lead me Closer to God, or further away?
3. Will this attach me more to my Soul, or to my senses?
4. Is this the most pleasing to God?
If you are honest and authentic, you will KNOW what the right decision is. And 'right' means it will truly, absolutely, unfailingly lead you to Lasting Happiness...because it will move you closer to the ONE who loves you Most...and loves you FOREVER!
Yeah...kanta will always be beating the same drum. I make my share of missteps, as you know, yet I still have my sights fixed on THE ONE...and HOME! I firmly believe Sri Yukteswar: "Finding God is the FUNERAL of all sorrows!"
I care about you...and you KNOW that. My prison break won't be nearly as satisfying, as complete, as HAPPY, unless you are coming too!
So....REMEMBER! If you just remember, you will recall the ecstasy and joy that the ONE provides. We have each had glimpses, sometime, somewhere, and we just KNEW that the shores of Divine Fulfillment were beckoning...and that is truly what we have been seeking all these long centuries.
So, Wake up, STAY awake, and keep on keeping on. The Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. We've taken that step before....we must keep walking in the direction of HOME and let the Fraud World alone! It will keep flashing it's neon signs to attempt to distract us. Yet, we KNOW they are fool's gold! We have been down those streets time and time again, Neo, and they always finish in DEAD ENDS.
We must keep each other's backs, wake each other up, pick each other up when we stumble, and get the heck out of Dodge. The ONE is waiting....with open arms. Let's GO!
